Steve Perrin is a lifelong martial artist (with an early background in Uechi-ryu and Shotokan) who, since 1992, has directed his training mainly into AMOK! and Filipino Martial Arts.
Steve is the co-founder of the IBFG, the very first workout was held in his basement, and along with Tom Sotis is the longest practicing member of AMOK! having maintained an unbroken training regimen since 1992.
Steve accompanied Tom on the first trip to the Philippines to train with the blademasters of Negros. To this day, Steve maintains many of the practices he learned from Nene Tortal and Grand Tuhon Leo Gaje.
That trip was sponsored by Greg Alland under whom Steve eventually earned the title of Guro of Kali-Silat / Sinatirsiawali. Steve opened his own Filipino Martial Arts school in 1996, where he continues leading class 2-3 times/week.
For his achievements, Steve was recognized by the Action Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2001 and received the IBFG Brotherhood Award in 2004.
Steve has traveled to the Netherlands and Thailand assisting Tom in seminars, and moves about New England teaching at various venues. In addition to his classes and seminars, Steve also offers private training.
